ChemEx² is a laboratory-based course offered during the summer for high school chemistry teachers. In this course you will be challenged to rethink the role of phenomena in the lab in order to foster student learning.
This course has been designed by and is taught collaboratively by CSET staff, high school chemistry teachers, and faculty from the Stanford Department of Chemistry. This course provides opportunities for you to put key ideas from both the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and Common Core State Standards into practice because of its focus on evidence and explanation. During the course you will also have time to develop a plan for your classroom that integrates the experiences, experiments, and core teaching practices you experienced into your chemistry courses.
The course runs for two weeks from July 21-31, 2014. Applications are due April 30.
