Resources for Teachers on the Civil Rights Act of 1964
June 19 of this year will mark both the 50th anniversary of the United States Senate's passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the 149th anniversary of Juneteenth -- the announcement of the abolition of slavery -- two landmark events along this country's long struggle for freedom.
To commemorate the continuing pursuit of equity and justice in American schools, Oregon Leadership Network has shared a list of resources recommended for teachers and students to expand their knowledge and understanding of the Civil Rights Movement.
