Title: Fractions-There’s Nothing To Be Afraid Of!
Description:
This optional course will allow participants to deepen their understanding of fractions through the use of models, connecting conceptual understanding with symbolic notation as identified in the CCSS. We will follow the fraction progression from 3rd through 6th grade and the instructional practices that support students’ understanding. Participates will apply conceptual understanding of fractions to enhance lessons or units from the district adopted curriculum. Participants have the option of purchasing 1 credit/$60 through Portland State University.

Thursdays: April 9, April 16, April 23, April 30, May 14, & May 28
4:30-6:30 pm
(When you sign up on Learning Campus you will be enrolled for all dates)
Audience: Classroom/math teachers K-8
Location: Tubman Library
Requirements
We must have at least 10 participants for this class. Registration will close Friday, March 20th.
