Beyond the Bus: Teaching the Unseen Story of Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus Boycott

This December 4th will mark the 60th anniversary of the start of the Montgomery Bus Boycott. It’s also the perfect opportunity to go beyond the prevailing “Rosa Parks stayed seated” narrative to tell a more complicated and complete story about this game-changing historical moment.

Teaching Tolerance’s new, free resource, Beyond the Bus: Teaching the Unseen Story of Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus Boycott, can help you do just that.

Beyond the Bus is a one-stop shop for best practices culled from the resources in our Teaching the Movement initiative, a series of reports and curricular tools we developed to help educators fill instructional gaps concerning civil rights history.

Learn more about Beyond the Bus and the Rosa Parks story by joining us for a free, live webinar on November 17 at 2:30 pm. If you can’t attend the live event, register anyway to receive the on-demand version.
