Instructional Coaches, and Math Leaders,
The Multnomah ESD is
hosting an exciting, high quality professional learning opportunity in December
for your instructional coaches, TOSAs, intervention specialists, and math
leaders.
Virginia Bastable,
associate director of Mathematics Leadership Programs at Mount Holyoke College,
will be presenting Collaborative Coaching for the Mathematics Classroom:
Tools and Analysis.
Participants will
explore these questions:
- What
mathematics do we want students to learn from specific math tasks?
- How
can we support teachers to create classrooms in which students are
actively engaged in mathematical thinking?
- How
can we use student work as a tool to identify mathematical and pedagogical
goals?
- What
tools are available to support collaboration between a coach and a math
teacher?
