6-12 Language Arts & ELD Adoption Committee

The Office of Teaching and Learning is currently forming a work group for the 6-12 Language Arts & ELD Adoption, and we are looking for teachers who are interested in providing input and leadership.

This team will research and make recommendations regarding a 6-12 materials adoption, help determine Language Arts grade-level learning targets, and create a plan for teacher professional development. This is a continuation of the work begun in 2013-14 with teachers who were members of the ELA Proficiency Committee.

Teachers interested in applying should send a letter or email of interest to Susan Payne (spayne@pps.net) by 4 p.m on Wednesday, November 5th. The letter should include:
  • Name
  • Teaching Experience
  • Current Assignment & School
  • Response to this Question (maximum one page): Why do you want to serve on the 6-12 Language Arts & ELD Adoption Committee and how will your experience and perspective support the goals of the team?
  • Two references: names & contact information
Applicants will be notified the week of November 10th. The first meeting will be held on Friday, November 21 from 8:30 – 11:00. Additional meetings are scheduled for December 11 and January 15, with other dates TBD. Sub costs will be covered by the ICA/ESL Departments.
