  • Categorize assessments based on their intended purpose and identify gaps and redundancies
  • Identify any grade levels, subjects, and/or times in the year where students are taking too many tests .
  • Make recommendations on an assessment plan to include descriptions of the types of assessments necessary to provide information the group determines is needed to accomplish priorities
  • Make recommendations on any needed professional development with respect to assessment for teachers or administrators.

This committee will meet with Portland resident Dr. Rick Stiggins, author of several books and articles on assessment and founder of the Assessment Training Institute, who will serve in an advisory capacity.
